More Casein

Rushing Water 8X10 Casein

I follow similar procedures for oil painting as I do for casein, one of the oldest artist medium older than oil.  Using the same array of warm and cool color and a plan based on the pattern of light and dark that develops my composition, so it really dose not matter which one I choose.  That said, as with any other paint their are certain steps that need to be taken to ensure the best results with casein, those steps include working on a acid free rigid surface and recognizing that the paint takes several days to dry completely.
More recommendations for casein. Take advantage of the rapid drying time the thick and/or thin applications, multimedia techniques and the unusual look of the matte finish of this water-soluble, milk based binder, it has a quality all its own.
