Welcome to Linda Cheek's Plein-Air Art Studio. I started bulding my art studio in 1990 and it has been and still is a work in progress, to quote Grandma Cheek "by the time you've made it, you've had it." I hope this blog will be an inspiration to artists and others as well.

Virtual Paint Out June 2010
This month Virtual Paint Out was Hawaii, for me this painting (6x8 O/P) was a study in values, I enjoyed traveling from place to place in and around the state of Hawaii. Wish I were there.

very nice Linda ...you kept it free and loose... I can feel the breeze going past the palm trees
Very nice, Linda! I like your colors. I really enjoy the challenges on Virtual Paintout. I'll be posting soon.
Linda, love your painting. The depth is what is so captivating. It just draws one back to what's beyond the smartly executed palm trees. Very interesting painting.
Brilliant use of color. You turned something so mundane, a street corner, into something beautiful. Great job!
